Podcast Media Buyer

 

Direct Results is seeking a Podcast Media Buyer to join our rapidly growing Media Buying Department. Reporting to the Associate Media Director, you will elevate and develop the next phase of our media planning, buying activation and analytical practices. You must be a podcast fanatic and have a firm grasp on the most valuable content environments.

 

The ideal candidate will bring innovation to our current process by creating tools that balance strategy and insights with metrics to guide our media practices. This person will have at least 2 years of experience in a media planning role + a minimum of one year of direct-response podcast buying experience with exceptional knowledge in entertainment content and audio buying.

 

What You Will Do To Succeed

 

  • Establish and cultivate successful, long-term Show Talent relationships while organizing and categorizing such show content for easy selection to help maximize advertiser Reach, Frequency and Return On Investment (ROI)
  • Work closely with internal and external Data/Analytics teams to create/enhance media analysis tools guiding the strategy and planning and monitoring the effectiveness of our campaigns  ensuring we are meeting or exceeding set goals.
  • Create and flawlessly execute on media plans including but not exclusive to:
    • Ability to build trusting and collaborative relationships internally and externally
    • Top-notch negotiation and partnership skills
    • Thoughtful and strategic planning process
    • Compile reports for management review
    • Contribute to larger marketing activations
    • Keep abreast of podcast and entertainment industry news, and emerging trends in audio marketing.
    • Support the team/organization as an expert in Podcast media planning, strategy and analysis
    • Help us continue to innovate and develop media growth hacks
    • Seek opportunities to optimize campaigns
      • Provide recommendations on copy, call to action, spend levels, alternative channels as necessary
  • Participate in the onboarding process
    • Support new clients with getting set-up
      • Creative, copy, contracts, etc
  • Participate in the business development process
    • Assist with developing proposals
      • Select podcasts, determine budget levels, forecasts/roi
    • Participate in the pitch process
  • Develop standard operating processes for the department
    • Tools, resources, training materials, etc

 

What You’ll Need to Succeed

 

  • Passion for Podcasts, audio storytelling and entertainment content
  • Must have media-buying experience at an agency or in-house with an entertainment company
  • Demonstrated understanding of media planning, buying, activation and analytics
  • Strong verbal, presentation, leadership and written abilities
  • Strong analytical sensibilities and ability to extract valuable insights and form tools that

generate guiding metrics

  • Strong critical thinking skills and an ability to make informed decisions based on data and business goals
  • Collaborative, communicative and informative
  • Self-starter attitude
